H.H Late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan said, “The real asset of any advanced nation is its people, especially the educated ones, and the prosperity and success of the people is measured by the standard of their education.” And the walk is considered its second initiative this year to mark and celebrate the ‘Year of Zayed 2018’.

Support Dubai Cares: Dubai Cares has been spreading the awareness and providing for children in developing countries with access to quality education for over a decade now. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has been supporting this initiative since 2007.

Westford Students Pledge for Education

At Westford University College, the spirit of spreading the awareness started early on 14th February 2018 itself, when the students and staffs joined hands and signed off their love, passion, and support for this noble and important cause. Westfordians truly believe that ‘Everyone has the right to education and with education no success is impossible’.

The signing of The Canvas was their way of going the extra mile to make a difference. This canvas was presented by Mr. Hanil Haridas, Director, Westford to the CEO of Dubai Cares, Tariq Al Gurg as a gesture to pledge our support.

Dubai Walk for Education

Dubai Cares’ Walk for Education is a symbolic walk that aims to highlight one of the challenges children face in acquiring quality education in developing countries. The walk is a wonderful opportunity for members of the UAE community to volunteer their time and energy in creating an awareness.

The walk took place at Gate 2 of the Dubai Creek Park. Around 15000 people participated in the walk from various corporate companies, Universities, and Schools. There were many fun activities, ga, es and shows that made it a good community event. The event had prominent social media influencers like Khalid Al Ameri and Maz Hakim as the host.

Flash Mob by Westfordians

Flash Mob in Dubai

The students of BABM from Westford University College, Sharjah, showcased a flash mob just before and after the walk putting their best step forward to create a buzz about the cause and spread the message. The students chanted slogans and held placards with sayings from famous leaders on the importance of education.
