After almost 2 years of successful run with the Leaders Toastmasters Club comprising of MBA students and alumni dispersed geographically across the globe, WUC hosted its first hybrid meeting on the 24th of September.
It was indeed a proud moment to see our very own students set in motion what turned out to be a well-organized, coordinated and the very first Leaders Toastmasters hybrid meeting. The meeting begun with the Toastmaster of the Day TM Nida Sadique introducing the underlying theme for the Meeting – “Superheroes” with a short yet brilliant speech that literally raised the excitement quotient in the room.
Next up, TM Abdul Badrudeen delivered a phenomenal, prepared speech leaving the audience in awe, with TMFatima Almaazmi being the evaluator for his speech, who also went on to be chosen as the best evaluator. Her feedback, we believe, was constructive and encouraging for all speakers in the room to want to do better. The exciting Table Topic session – a long-standing Toastmasters tradition intended to help members develop their ability to organize their thoughts quickly and respond to an impromptu question or topic, yet again inspired all the Toastmasters to participate.
The Best Prepared Speech was then awarded to TM Abdul Ahmeed and the best Table Topics Speaker to TMMahek Mashrook. Certificates were then awarded to each participant who were chosen through a votingprocess by their fellow Toastmasters. Oh, we must say that recognizing the best deserving speech among thespeakers required our Toastmasters to exhibit their prudence which they rightly did! With our expectationsnow soaring roof-high, we wish them the absolute best moving forward.
