For more than 50 years, Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) has been a big part of the Kent community, providing education that makes a real and positive difference to people’s lives. The University started as a teacher training college in the 1960s in response to a national shortage of teachers. The program includes a wide range of approaches to learning, teaching and assessment. Teaching will largely comprise lectures and class discussions. The learners will study in an informative and participative environment and where necessary, appropriate guidance will be provided on reading materials. Learning to apply this knowledge is achieved by the use of case studies, class discussions, and similar exercises.
As this program is most suited to working executives, the learnings will make an important contribution to understanding the ideas and concepts. Learners will be expected to apply their classroom learning to the more challenging world of a business environment.
A wide variety of assessment methods are employed to develop both academic and professional skills. The overall emphasis within the programme is on coursework assessment. This will involve the use of reports, presentations, projects, reflective and critical assignments, research activities, and case studies.
