Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
Most of the buyers choose the procurement institutions based on the Key Performance Indicators. The KPI is depended on the goals of the organization and the features of the products.  Quality of products and services, the time of delivery of items with respect to orders and inventory are some of the factors affecting Key performance Indicators.

Team Work
Building a team in coordination with other department is useful in getting more ideas about the buying process and discussing various issues which may arise in the process. While purchasing special equipment and machinery this teamwork between departments is crucial. Knowing about the intended use of the sub-products will be critical for other departments which need to be considered by the purchasing team.

Relationship with Suppliers
For obtaining consistent supply of materials and ensuring the quality of products relationships with suppliers need to be taken care of seriously. Instead of focusing merely on the cost factors quality of products need to be met in order to meet the supply chain demands.
