An event manager is responsible for all the activities that start before and end after the event. proper planning is required for conducting an event and the preparation starts weeks or month before the actual event. Conducting follow up and analysis also helps in planning the next event. The role of an event manager on the actual event day is limited to ensuring that everything is running properly.

Each section of the event like food audiovisual and front desk etc need to be checked for proper functioning during the actual event. Any of the staff members being absent need to be checked before the event and if any person is leaving the place who have the authority need to be informed about the event.
The client also needs to be informed about the details of the event and any possibilities of postponing the event also need to be verified. Any change in the booking of food or other facilities need to be updated with the client and arrangements should be made for the alterations.
