Westford hosted a “Meet and Greet” event in the commercial capital of Nigeria, Lagos, to connect with Westford alumni and students. Westford marked its presence in Africa in the year 2012. Since then, over 200 students from Nigeria have graduated in Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Postgraduate Diploma Programs.
The event was conducted at Eko Hotels & Resorts, Victoria Island, Lagos on 11th May 2019, and was attended by over 30 Westford students & alumni and more than 50 attendees were marked as prospective students. Mr. Hanil Haridas, Co-Founder & Executive Director of Westford University College, along with Ms. Marjorie Briones, Senior Admission Officer, had an interactive session of two hours with the students, prospects and alumni.
Westford has a strong Alumni network of more than 5000 members from around the world. We greatly value our Alumni and aim to actively engage with them for Career Development and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. Thus, this event was an opportunity for the prospective students to learn about Westford programs in detail from the Westford graduates who enthusiastically shared their experiences.
Mr. Orifa Kelvin from MBA Class of 2017 MBA, said “The hunger and quest for Innovative Online MBA and other educational degrees that I saw in the students (including prospective students) is a testimonial to the reputation and value of Westford University College. As a proud alumnus of the University of Wolverhampton, it was a great pleasure to share my MBA experience. The life after MBA has been very rewarding as well”. Kelvin who works with the Telecom giant, MTN, had the opportunity to meet two of his colleagues from MTN who are currently pursuing MBA with Westford.
Another student, Mr. Brendan Propnen Dumpe who is currently pursuing MBA with Westford said, “It was indeed fulfilling to meet the director, staffs and my fellow students. The meet and greet session was a turning point in our online education – bringing our virtual class to reality”.
Ms. Blessing Chekwube Ugwueze, Recruitment Head at Public Investment Fund – Amaala Project said “It was a good event, filled with current and prospective students. Being an online student, the event gave me opportunity to learn more about Westford from what was shared by the facilitators. I shared my contact with a lot of prospective students I met in that forum, who wished to know more about my experience so far with Westford. At the end of the session, I left the venue with Westford merchandise and lots of memories”.
The Star Guys twins, Mr. Joseph and Emmanuel Ikon from Cool FM, also attended the event. The day concluded with an interview of the director and students of Westford that was organised by Cool FM.
