It is one of those questions where when asked, you completely forget who you are. I am a procurement and warehouse supervisor by profession at Marine Service One with over 7 years of experience in the procurement field. I started working as soon as I turned eighteen. Life has been hard, but I believe I would not be where I am today without the struggles. I have learned to live life one moment at a time and things have worked well ever since.

I believe the most rewarding experience has been the opportunities that unfolded after getting my bachelor’s degree. I had already been working while doing my undergraduate program, so I had a valuable experience but only lacked a degree. Fast forward to 3 years after starting my bachelor’s program, I was promoted to the role of a senior purchaser. The journey since then has only been going onward and upward..

It was challenging, but with the classes being after work hours and only 2 days a week, it was comparatively much easier to get an education while working. Since most of the learning was based on real-life case studies, Westford is the perfect choice for education, especially for working people.

As far as my skills go, I am on the right track to becoming a procurement manager. However, I am looking to improve my knowledge in the supply chain field and also work on my leadership skills. With the ever-changing market, I would like to get a certified professional license in Supply Chain Management and attend soft skills training to get better at managing people and being a good leader.

My advice would be “Don’t overthink, just keep doing what you’re doing.” Life seems challenging and we will always think, “Maybe now is not the right time,” but the right time will never come. A few years from now, it is better to think that you have done what you wanted to do, rather than wishing you did it.
