As the demand for sports professionals has been on a constant rise, the requirement for professionals to acquire sport-specific skills is mandatory. The Higher National Diploma in Sports provides a solid grounding in the field of sports, through which the learners can progress towards their bachelor’s degree in sports business. The Pearson BTEC will have developed a sound understanding of the principles in their field of study and learners will have learned to evaluate the appropriateness of different approaches to solving problems.
The purpose of BTEC Higher Nationals in Sport is to develop students as professional, self-reflecting individuals able to meet the demands of employers in the sports sector and adapt to a constantly changing world. The qualifications aim to widen access to higher education and enhance the career prospects of those who undertake them.
The HND in Sports is delivered across 15 modules and is meant to meet the increasing need for professional, technical, and educational pathways, through a focused curriculum that prepares them for future degree-level studies and/or industry work.
The curriculum promotes experiential learning through group projects, practical assignments, and class partnerships to better mirror the real-world workplace. We replicate scenarios and increase engagement through a combination of study and practical training. This ensures that learners are always learning and honing their skills.
